FIRST SOWING FRENCH BEANS IN POTS INDOORS
French Beans are one of the most tender vegetables and even a
small amount will damage them. Rather than sowing the beans directly
in the raised bed we suggest sowing them in pots and then
transplanting to the raised bed when all danger of frost has passed. |
|
 |
Sow two seeds per 7cm / 3in pot about 2cm / 1in
deep and water well. Leave in a light airy position out of direct
sunlight. The seedling will emerge in about 7 days time. Discard the
weakest seedling when they both emerge. The
seedlings can be transplanted to the raised bed when all danger of
frost has passed. See our full article on growing French beans in
raised beds by clicking

SECOND SOWING OF SPRING ONIONS
FINAL SOWING OF CARROTS
In truth, if you sow early carrot seed rather than maincrop
seed, you should be able to sow carrots through to early July. At
the very least, sow more carrot seed as you make space by harvesting
carrots sown earlier in the year. See our
main article
on carrots for full details.
